Solid Surface Care and Maintenance

Tessaro USA was created for a lifetime of extraordinary beauty and effortless care. These cleaning procedures should keep our product looking as new as the day they were installed, simply follow the guidelines listed below.

Standard Care
There are three types of countertop finishes: matte/satin, semi-gloss and high-gloss. All of our sinks and bowls have the matte/satin finish. Soapy water or ammonia-base cleaners will remove most dirt and stains from all types of finishes. However, slightly different techniques must be used to remove difficult stains, depending on the finish. Follow the recommendations in the charts below to properly care for your finish type.

Preventing Heat Damage
Our solid surfaces withstand heat better than ordinary surface materials. However, hot pans, as well as some heat-generating appliances, like frying pans, electric skillets, or crockpots can damage the surface. To prevent damage, always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet to protect your countertops. Damage from excessive heat-generating appliances will not be covered by Smokey Mountain Tops 10 year warranty.

Preventing Other Damage
In most cases, Tessaro USA can be repaired if accidentally damaged. However, be sure to follow the guidelines here to prevent any permanent damage.

  • Avoid exposing too strong chemicals, such as paint removers, oven cleaners, etc. If contact does occur, quickly flush the surface with water.
  • Remove nail polish with a non-acetone-based nail polish remover and flush with water.
  • Do not cut directly on countertop surface.
  • Run cold water when pouring boiling water into sinks.
